The Inter-Tech 4U-4408L is a 4U rackmount storage enclosure for professional server, NAS, backup, virtualization and data center applications. It combines a high drive capacity with extensive expansion options and a cooling system designed for efficient continuous operation. In the front area, the case has eight hot-swap bays that accommodate both 2.5- and 3.5-inch drives and enable tool-free replacement during operation. This is complemented by an additional 2.5-inch hot-swap slot on the back, which is suitable for the operating system or as a cache drive, for example. There are also internal drive spaces available for additional SSDs or HDDs. The backplanes support SAS and SATA drives with a transfer speed of up to 12 Gbit/s. The case supports motherboards from Mini-ITX to SSI-EEB with a maximum size of 335 × 386 mm. Up to eleven slots are available for expansion cards, with graphics cards able to reach a length of up to 330 mm. CPU coolers can be up to 145mm high. An ATX power supply is installed as standard; Alternatively, a rear panel for redundant 2U power supplies can be retrofitted, making the housing also suitable for highly available server systems. Cooling is provided by three centrally located 120 mm fans and two easily removable 80 mm fans in the front area. The cooling system is supplemented by three dust filters behind the front, which ensures uniform air flow and maintenance-friendly operation. There are also two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports on the front for quick access to external storage media. With dimensions of 485 × 690 × 178 mm (W × D × H), the housing corresponds to the standardized 4U rack format and is suitable for installation in 19-inch server cabinets. The robust steel housing weighs around 13.3 kg and is designed for reliable 24/7 operation.
